CO2 Emissions From Fossil Fuels Print E-mail

Car on fossil fuelWhen we move around in cars, buses, boats and airplanes, when we use electricity and when we heat our houses we usually cause emissions of CO2, carbon dioxide. That is because we still use fossil fuels like petrol, diesel, oil, natural gas and coal.

Often we can choose alternatives which cause less harmful emissions of CO2, for example by taking the train instead of flying or by sharing a car instead of riding solo. Sometimes harmful emissions are however hard to avoid and this is where offsetting is an alternative. More information on offsetting can be found on the page about getting carbon neutral.
